Painted by me in August 2011, "shimmer in dark energy" measures 40 x 30.5 cm. It can hang portrait or landscape, in either of two orientations, comprising four possible hang strategies!
It could have been (but wasn't) specifically painted as the visual incarnation of the poem "neutrino casino", which includes this verse:
Within a scale free universe hang superstrings of pearls
That shimmer in dark energy as Indra's net unfurls

To me it seems to catch the eye then not let go. It asks that you keep looking deeper and deeper into it.
I really like the beautiful golden colors. Gold and black always seem to work so well together.
Hi ghostseeker, thanks for your comment. Apparently yellow and black is the color combination most striking to the eye, which is why traffic signs are often in those colors.
